A FIRST AND A MILESTONE!

The MWO Madrid and OWWA Madrid, in cooperation with the Philippine Embassy in Madrid, proudly marked a historic milestone through our first-ever collaboration with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), through its ICT Academy, for a Digital Literacy Training for our Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).

This pioneering partnership marks the FIRST-EVER collaboration between DICT and a Philippine Overseas Post, opening new opportunities for future digital literacy and technology-focused training programs that will empower our OFWs in an increasingly digital world.

Through the expertise of Ms. Jenny Contreras, our participants gained practical digital skills, explored useful online platforms, and learned essential cybersecurity practices to help them navigate the digital world with greater confidence, knowledge, and security.

BREAST CANCER AWARENESS LECTURE

In observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Dr. Wireen Leila Dator led an informative and meaningful discussion on breast cancer awareness, early detection, and preventive healthcare. Her message reminded us that prioritizing our health is an essential part of empowerment.

Our heartfelt appreciation goes to our resource speakers, partner institutions, MWO-OWWA Madrid team, the Philippine Embassy, DICT-ICT Academy, and most especially to all our OFWs and their families who dedicated their Sunday to learning, growing, and prioritizing their well-being.

Here’s to more firsts, stronger partnerships, greater digital empowerment, and more opportunities for our OFWs and their families!

Effective 5th of October, the Spanish government implemented a new Royal Decree for workers.
